Who a combined cleansing facial suits
A combined cleanse is for skin that needs more than one method. Combination skin, for example: the forehead, nose and chin are oilier and the pores congested, while the cheeks are more sensitive and thinner. Or skin with both blackheads and visible capillaries – in that case, cleansing the whole face by hand would be too much.
If the pores are congested evenly across the whole face, a deep-cleansing facial is usually enough. If the skin is sensitive and there are only a few blackheads, the gentler ultrasonic cleansing facial will suit it. Not sure which to choose? Call us – we will advise.
Why combine several methods
Each cleansing method has its own strengths. Ultrasound is gentle: its vibrations loosen what is inside the pores without pressure and lift away dead cells from the surface. Working by hand, we can clear the more deeply congested pores and blackheads precisely. By combining the two, we cleanse the skin thoroughly without overworking it. Where to use ultrasound and where to work by hand, we decide once we have looked at your skin.
Once the skin is clean, we give it an oxygen infusion: a device that generates oxygen enriches a concentrate with it and sprays it onto the skin. To finish, we choose a mask – whichever your skin needs that day.
How the treatment works
- We remove your make-up and any impurities, and tone the skin.
- We gently exfoliate the outer layer of dead cells.
- We apply a detoxifying (cleansing) mask that softens what is inside the pores.
- We cleanse the skin with ultrasound.
- Where the pores are more deeply congested, we carefully clear them by hand.
- We give the skin an oxygen infusion: a device sprays an oxygen-enriched concentrate onto it.
- We finish with a mask chosen for what your skin needs.
The whole treatment takes about an hour and a half. At the end, we tell you what we noticed and advise you on how to care for your skin at home.
If you are pregnant, taking any medication or have a skin condition, please tell us before the treatment – together we will decide whether it is right for you.
Aftercare
After the cleanse, the skin usually looks cleaner and smoother. For the first day, go without make-up and avoid saunas, swimming pools and strenuous exercise. For a few days afterwards, take particular care to use sun protection. If the odd red spot appears, leave it alone – it usually settles quickly.
How often
That depends on your skin type and on how your skin feels between treatments. After your first cleanse, we will tell you how often it is worth repeating and which products to choose for home.
