“Cosmetology works from the outside, nutrition from within.” – Žana Mitiajeva
Why a cosmetologist is interested in nutrition
In more than three decades of working with skin, Žana has seen that not everything can be changed from the surface alone. The skin reflects how we eat, how much water we drink, how we sleep and how much stress we live with. So she began to delve deeper into nutrition, and in time it became, as she puts it herself, the culmination of her studies.
How nutrition shows in the skin
The skin is constantly renewing itself, and the building blocks it needs for this come from what we eat and drink. When we eat in a hurry and at irregular times, drink too little water or go without enough sleep for a long time, the skin often looks tired: paler, drier, without a lively glow. Cosmetology cares for the skin from the outside; eating habits are the part each of us can look after from within.
What is nutrition science?
Nutrition science is the study of human nutrition. It grew out of biochemistry and nutritional hygiene, and it looks at the composition and quality of food, vitamins and minerals, a balanced diet, and how food is broken down, absorbed and used by the body.
A nutritionist helps you plan your daily diet and learn to choose food consciously – not just for a while, but for everyday life.
What Žana studied
Žana studied nutrition in 2019–2020 and in 2024. In 2020 she completed the practical nutrition programme at the Marina Maltseva Institute, received a diploma from the institute and attended courses on children’s nutrition. In 2024 she completed two more programmes at Nature’s Sunshine Health Academy: Basics of Nutritionology (42 academic hours) and Detox and Cleansing (24 academic hours).
The consultation
At the consultation we talk about your eating habits, how much and what you drink, your daily rhythm and your wellbeing. Beforehand you receive a detailed questionnaire, and we can meet at the studio in Vilnius Old Town or online. We describe how it works on the Nutrition consultation page.
Good to know
A nutrition consultation is about eating habits and general wellbeing. It does not replace a consultation with your doctor: we do not diagnose, and we do not prescribe medicines or therapeutic diets. If you have a health condition, are taking any medication, are expecting or are breastfeeding, please talk to your doctor first about any changes to your diet.
I recommend Žana not only as an excellent beauty specialist, but also as a nutritionist.
