Who a deep-cleansing facial suits
A deep cleanse suits almost any skin whose pores sometimes become congested: oily and combination skin, skin with blackheads, and tired skin with a dull, greyish tone. It also makes a good first visit: while we cleanse, we look at your skin and talk about what it really needs.
For very sensitive or thin, delicate skin, or skin with visible capillaries, we more often suggest the gentler ultrasonic cleansing facial. If you are unsure, call us – we will advise.
How the treatment works
- We remove make-up and impurities, and tone the skin.
- We gently exfoliate the outer layer of dead cells.
- We apply a detoxifying (cleansing) mask – an enzyme mask, a live algae mask or a mask with plant enzymes. We choose it for the condition of your skin: the mask softens what is inside the pores and prepares the skin for cleansing.
- We carefully clear the pores by hand.
- If needed, we use a high-frequency (D’Arsonval) device on the skin.
- Depending on the condition of the skin, we give a light massage.
- We finish with a soothing, hydrating or pore-refining mask.
The whole treatment takes about an hour and a half. At the end, we tell you what we noticed and advise you on how to care for your skin at home.
Two programmes
Classic deep-cleansing facial – all the steps described above.
Facial with microdermabrasion and an anti-ageing mask – after the cleanse, we also gently resurface the skin with microdermabrasion, and to finish, we choose a nourishing, hydrating mask for more mature skin. This programme is often chosen by clients who would like skin that is not only clean but also smoother and fresher.
Aftercare
For the first day, go without make-up and avoid saunas, swimming pools and strenuous exercise. For a few days, remember to use sun protection. If the odd red spot appears after the cleanse, it usually settles quickly – just leave it alone.
How often
Once a month is usually enough, but it depends on your skin type and its condition. Between treatments, much depends on how you care for your skin at home, so after every visit we advise you on which products to choose for your skin.
