Men come to us too. Today, looking after your skin is as natural a part of a well-groomed appearance as a good haircut or a clean shirt.
How a man’s skin is different
- Thicker and denser. It contains more collagen and holds moisture better, so the signs of ageing usually appear later, but they tend to be more pronounced and harder to correct.
- Oilier. There are more sebaceous glands and they are more active, so the pores are larger and become congested more quickly, and blackheads appear more often.
- Irritated by shaving. Skin that is shaved every day becomes more sensitive, its protective barrier weakens, and small nicks and redness appear.
- Changing with age. From about the age of fifty, the skin produces less oil and sweat, gradually becomes thinner and drier, and capillaries show more clearly.
So a man’s skin does not need different treatments, but treatments chosen differently – and consistent care.
Where to start
Deep-cleansing facial – the most common first treatment. The pores are carefully cleared by hand, and the skin is calmed. It suits oily and combination skin, and skin with blackheads.
Ultrasonic cleansing facial – gentler, with no squeezing. We often choose it when the skin is sensitive or irritated by shaving.
Hydra Facial – a device-based cleanse: the tip clears the pores while delivering active ingredients into the skin, and oxygen complements the treatment. The shortest programme takes an hour, so it is easy to fit into a working day.
Facial for acne-prone skin – consistent care for skin prone to breakouts: cleansing, calming and clear advice for home.
For more mature skin, microdermabrasion, layered facials and other skin-firming treatments are a good fit; for the scalp, see scalp and hair care.
How your first visit goes
- We have a short conversation: how you shave, which products you use, and what you are not happy with.
- We look at your skin and choose the treatment.
- We carry out the treatment.
- We tell you what we noticed and recommend simple home care – a few products that are right for your skin.
You will find more about how to prepare and how much time to allow on the Your first visit page.
Shaving and your skin
Many skin concerns begin with shaving. A few simple habits help: shave in the direction of hair growth with a clean, sharp razor; after shaving, choose a soothing product rather than an alcohol-based one; and during the day, use a cream with sun protection. At your visit we will advise you on what suits your skin.
How often
A cleanse every four to six weeks is usually enough, though oilier skin sometimes needs cleansing more often. After your first treatment we will tell you how often is right for you.

A wonderful specialist. I really liked it!
